Brentford have confirmed the signing of Danish international midfielder Christian Eriksen at the start. The 29-year-old has signed until the end of the season and he can now be added to the Fantasy Premier League managers’ squad. Experts assess what it will bring to those who placed it.
Christian was one of many players added to FPL over the past few weeks. In an article here, The Scout – who write about Fantasy Premier League for the Premier League – looked at some of them. Christian was the one he was talking about.
“Eriksen’s set-piece threat can be a major weapon for Brentford for the remainder of 2021/22,” write The Scout. Eriksen was among Fantasy’s most reliable midfielders during his time at Tottenham Hotspur and returned over 161 points in each of his five seasons as a regular from 2014/15 to 2018/19. ‘Eriksen’s 43 goals and 62 assists in that span underscores his all-around style of play.
“He will offer major potential from set pieces. Thomas Frank’s side have been among the most threatening of such situations this season. They have recorded 97 shots from such situations, third with Chelsea.
“Eriksen was a huge set-piece threat for Spurs. He was Fantasy’s No.1 player for direct free-kicks in four of his five seasons as a regular starter for the North London side. Eriksen also ranked among the top six players for chances created from set pieces in three of those campaigns.”
