Apex Legends players received good news and bad news in Respawn entertainmentThe latest update on server issues plaguing the game since the most recent patch was released. The good news is that the game’s current ranked division – the first for the season – has been extended to allow players to earn a few extra points before the division ends and a soft reset of ranks occurs. The bad news is that the servers are yet to be repaired and a return to normal isn’t expected until September 22 at the earliest.
The last on Apex the server issues came from Respawn’s Twitter account in a tweet that said that despite the improvements, the disconnection and server issues overall are still present. Respawn said it is still seeing three times as many logout errors in the game, an issue players will experience all too well now if they have played in the past two days.
Despite improvements today, we are still seeing about three times the normal rate of disconnection errors in @PlayApex, and a full return to normal may take until our next patch scheduled for September 22.
We will extend the current ranking by one week. This update will go live on Monday.

The silver lining of the patch that won’t come until after the weekend is the Extended Ranked Division. Respawn has said it plans to extend the ranked season for a week before its scheduled end on Monday. With the one-week extension in place, the season’s top ranked division will now end on September 27. However, it has not been said if the Evolution collection event that is currently taking place will get a similar expansion due to the issues.
An expansion of the Ranked Division was one of the main things players have asked for in the many requests and responses to Respawn regarding server issues. While the simple answer to avoiding critical disconnects in Ranked modes is to simply not play Ranked matches when the servers are having issues, the long duration of the server issues has left players wondering if the Ranked Division could. be extended. Server issues do not distinguish between Ranked and Casual modes, so players on both sides of the Mountain peak experience have encountered these problems.
This isn’t the first update we’ve got on server issues, and it sure won’t be the last. Hotfixes and expansions for the current season are slated to release next week on the dates listed above, so until then, it’s best to expect server issues to continue regardless of which mode you are in. play.
