New long-range UHF processor offers OPC UA server, integrated IO-Link master

Balluff’s newest RFID tool improves tracking and traceability processes across industries

FLORENCE, Ky., September 17, 2021 / PRNewswire-PRWeb / – Balluff’s new long-range UHF processor with integrated OPC UA server enables direct communication with MES and ERP systems. The BIS U-6127 extends the power of RFID and increases the level of productivity and flexibility of tracking and traceability solutions.

Its multi-client and multi-port functionality allows it to run multiple applications simultaneously. Full configuration options are available on the web server and extensive RFID functions simplify start-up. And with an integrated IO-Link master, users can add additional IO-Link sensors.

A Linux operating system allows rapid preprocessing and filtering of large amounts of data. This filtering minimizes interference to ensure that accurate reading results are sent to the computer system.

In addition, the BIS U-6127 is equipped with security features that ensure secure communication between the processor and other systems. RFID tag data can be digitally signed and encrypted. This prevents data from being tampered with or manipulated during production.

The BIS U-6127 is particularly suitable for material layout and digitization of production and intralogistics processes found in almost any industry. This includes:

  • Automatic recording of incoming or outgoing goods

  • Monitoring of work progress and material consumption

  • Monitoring of material flows (also confirmation of production steps / processes)

  • Control of machines and systems (also transfer of production parameters to a quality assurance system)

  • Precise adjustment of machines and systems (tools, material, tasks)
