The systems of 10 banks including Barclays, Halifax, Lloyds, Nationwide and Monzo are currently down, preventing thousands of customers from accessing their accounts this morning.
Customers have reported issues with the inaccessibility of several online banking services to DownDetector, a website that tracks website outages in the UK and the rest of the world.
Bank customers are reporting issues with money transfers, online banking, and mobile banking apps.

online mirror reports that some households were unable to buy food or pay bills following the outage which was first reported around 6am on Wednesday morning.
Customers have taken to social media to report issues with their online banking services.
A Barclays customer said: “Hi, I transferred money to my husband’s Barclays account to pay some bills and also paid my credit card bill but none are showing up on my account .”

A NatWest customer said: “Are there any issues with the app? I transferred money at 7am to run errands and it still hasn’t arrived in my account .”
A Santander spokesperson said: “We are aware that our customers are currently experiencing issues making and receiving faster payments.
“We are very sorry for the inconvenience and are working hard to resolve the issue. Other payment services are not affected.”
