I kind of wish the game still had that old school super scaler aesthetic that made me want it in the first place, but from what I understand the current smoother visuals ended up being a lot more feasible for development so I understand the change. I'm sure it's still a fun game either way. Also, I appreciate the devs giving all Kickstarter backers a Steam key at launch. A lot of campaigns with delayed console ports would have just said "oh well, sucks to be you!".

I really liked the demo of this last Next Fest. Game feels great to play and they've also nailed the vibe and feel they're going for.

Oozes personality in the best way, and I'll be picking this up when I can even though I'm not huge on racing games.

This looks really cool.

Edit: Looking closer those character designs are really disappointing

Wait what?!?! That was like half the reason I even knew and was interested in the game :(

Bought on steam but wondering about the IOS and android release. Its releasing tho crunchyroll and webstie said "exact same time as pc release" but ive been searching the appstore every 30 min since this morning and nothing. Playing this on the go with a razer kishi ultra will be extra nice vs a hefty steam deck

Edit: nvm, they updated the article to say the mobile release is delayed

I was under the impression that the game was going to be released on the Nintendo Switch but I can't find any information anywhere.

NintendoLife has the game added to their games page which makes me assume it was at some point announced for the console.

It is just not at the same time as PC.

Played through the first cup, aside the overly easy difficulty Im having a blast. I really enjoyed the demo and this runs perfect on my Deck, I just hope the next couple of cups up the challenge a little.

Per their Kickstarter updates, Switch is still being worked on. If you backed you get a Steam key while you wait.

I had the same journey. The trailer moves quickly and has lots of energy, but when I took a second look at those characters, I couldn't help but notice a distinct lack of diversity.

Victory Heat Rally out on Steam today ($16.99 sale price) (20)

A (singular) Black character.
Most of the feminine presenting characters can be described as "busty."
Everyone is skinny. (EDIT: Pepe's in-game character select portrait has a little more bulk than he appears in the trailer)

I was hoping the game would be a little less cheesecake, but the in-game character portraits present masculine and feminine characters VERY differently. I don't like to complain about indie games because shipping anything is an accomplishment worth celebrating, but it's hard to ignore some of this stuff.

I want /hope for:
* better challenge
* better visual/audio feedback when you are airborne or land from airborne.

Quoting myself because in the second tourney I DO have audio/animation effects for landing after being in the air. Just not for that one (some) tracks in the Breeze tour. (The track with the water.)

There's a difficulty setting and by default it's set to the easiest difficulty.

Where is that? I did have a look in the options but couldnt find it. I definitely need to crank that up!

In Arcade GP, press start for options before you pick the course. Thought it was weird that it was set to very easy by default, but it is a lot less forgiving on normal difficulty.

Thanks. Was trying to find it in the Championship mode but it seems its supposed to start off super easy there... ah well, at least arcade mode has difficulty choices!
Ive messed around with it a bit and its much better on hard and very hard. I can reliably place first on the first three courses on breeze cup but that last rally is kicking my ass. Cant get higher than second! That's more like it challenge wise!

Going to holdout for the Switch release, but it looks fantastic. I'm so happy that we're getting great arcade style racers. Don't sleep on New Star GP and Parking Garage Rally Circuit!
